Monsoons...

While my parents were here visiting, about 2 weeks ago, we had a few storms, but they seemed to always really hit in the middle of the night.  On Sunday the dew point and the temperature finally cooperated to give us a nice thunderstorm in the afternoon (when they normally come).  So off my dad goes to chase the storm and get some lightning pictures.  He didn't get his lightening pictures but when he got to the wash behind our development ...
he found some cows that were trying to cross the wash. I don't think they ever made it to the other side, but they sure tried.
If any of you are wondering why there are cows just wondering... it is open range so we see cows pretty frequent along with all the other wild life.  Tons of rabbits, cotton tails and jack rabbits, coyotes, lots of frogs especially now with all the rain,  and don't forget the havaleenas (sp?).  I've seen them at the church the most.  They love the grass!
